Effective Date: July 20, 2025

By signing up to volunteer with Tech Engagement and Research Institute (TERI), you agree to the following terms and conditions that govern your participation in any in-person or virtual volunteer activity organized or facilitated by us.

1. Voluntary Participation

I understand that my participation as a volunteer with Tech Engagement and Research Institute (TERI) is entirely voluntary. I acknowledge that I will not be paid for my services and am not entitled to employee benefits.

2. Assumption of Risk

I recognize that volunteer activities may involve certain inherent risks, including physical activity, transportation to and from events, or contact with individuals in varying conditions. I assume full responsibility for any risk of bodily injury, illness, property damage, or death that may occur due to my participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

3. Release and Waiver of Liability

I hereby release and hold harmless Tech Engagement and Research Institute (TERI), its officers, directors, staff, agents, and partner organizations from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or in connection with my participation as a volunteer, including but not limited to those arising from negligence.

4. Medical Treatment

I authorize Tech Engagement and Research Institute (TERI) to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf in case of injury or illness. I understand that I am responsible for any medical costs incurred.

5. Photo and Media Release

I grant Tech Engagement and Research Institute (TERI) permission to use photographs, video, and audio recordings of me taken during volunteer events for promotional and educational purposes, including on websites, social media, and printed materials, unless I submit a written opt-out request.

6. Code of Conduct

I agree to:

• Treat all individuals with respect, dignity, and kindness.
  
• Follow safety guidelines and instructions from event coordinators or staff.
  
• Refrain from using illegal substances or engaging in any behavior that could harm others.
  

7. Minors

Volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian unless written permission is granted by Tech Engagement and Research Institute (TERI).

8. Governing Law

This waiver shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts within the state.

By submitting my volunteer registration or participating in any event hosted by Tech Engagement and Research Institute (TERI), I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to this waiver and disclaimer.
